The true story of Mexican teacher Sergio Juárez, who arrives in a border town rife with corruption and violence and tries a radical method to unlock the creativity and potential of his pupils, despite the school having some of the worst academic results in the country.

Film Screening ‘The Old Oak’

The Old Oak is the last remaining pub in a village in the north-east of England that has been emptied by the closure of the mines. There are many cheap and available houses, making it the ideal place for Syrian refugees. An ode to coexistence between cultures, and to integration, solidarity and social justice.
